Diane and Kaelem always wished for a magical island wedding. They celebrated their special day with casual elegance at Artscape Gibraltar Point with a private boat, s’mores and dancing on the tented green surrounded by friends and nature. We have always had a special place in our hearts for the Toronto Islands. It is a hop, skip and jump on a boat or water taxi to a little piece of heaven 10 mins away. 
We knew we were going to get married on this magical island, but didn’t know where we would have our reception. We wanted something private, something different and also large enough for us to cater to our growing number of guests for the reception and party.
We found Artscape Gibraltar Point one snowy weekend when we decided to cross country ski to our future favorite spot on the island. The spot has a semi-private beach, with beautiful views of no city! It also has a great amount of green space, a large kitchen, updated washrooms, residence rooms that can be used during the day of the wedding and also the night before, and two rooms for entertainment.
We were planning an outdoor event, but as the days approached we realized we need a massive tent as the probability of rain was high! We managed to get a lovely tent on the west lawns with DJ, a band, a bar, a dance floor and dinner tables with still room for more. We used the south lawn for a picnic bonfire with s’mores and lawn games during cocktail hour. Lisa, the building and event manager, is simply amazing. She’s open, listens to your needs and is just a down to earth rock star. Artscape also has a private boat launch about 300 meters from the space that private boats can pick up and drop off family and friends. This place has it all to make a special day and night come true. Thank you Artscape!
