Congratulations to Christina & Vincent who were married at Artscape Wychwood Barns this summer! Their wedding had a wonderfully personal and handmade feel to it, especially their “Milk & Cookies” themed centrepieces and custom candy buffet!
Christina & Vincent told us what they and their guests loved about their Wychwood wedding:
Our guests are still talking about our fabulous wedding and how much they liked the non-traditional venue, and were especially happy they didn’t have to travel from the ceremony to another location for the cocktail hour/reception. We also liked the fact that Artscape Wychwood Barns is located in downtown Toronto, but is slightly away from the busyness of the city. The outside of the barns provided an awesome backdrop for some amazing photographs. We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding.
Room Configuration: Three Spaces Divided by Sheers
Despite being nearly 8,000 sq.ft., the Covered Street Barn can be easily made to feel more intimate for small to medium-sized weddings by partitioning the room into smaller distinct spaces. Christina & Vincent seated 70 guests on the west side of the Covered Street Barn and positioned their officiant at a podium in front of a floor-to-ceiling white sheer fabric panel.
After the ceremony, the sheers were pulled back to reveal a reception area and the bar.
When it was time for dinner, the sheers were parted so guests could take a seat at their tables. Catering byThe Stop, who run the greenhouse and farmer’s market at Artscape Wychwood Barns, provided some local flavour.
The sheers also help diffuse the sun on warm summer days!
