Sana & Derek’s casual and colourful nuptials had all the elements of a perfect summer wedding at Artscape Gibraltar Point: canoodling on the ferry, a ceremony on the beach and dancing the night away under paper lanterns on the lawn.
Yes, it’s true: a ceremony on the beach! As far as we know, Artscape Gibraltar Point is the only wedding location in Toronto where you can get married on the beach. Who needs the Caribbean?
The building celebrated its 100th birthday in 2009. Most of its life was lived as the Toronto Island Public and Natural Science School. Since 1999, it has operated as an artist residency centre and a venue for all kinds of arts and cultural events.
One mega bonus of hosting events at Artscape Gibraltar Point is that you can provide your own liquor under a Special Occasions Permit. This is especially helpful if the Groom is a great bartender.
But maybe you should give him the night off.
Congrats to the happy couple!
